Only the best surfers are invited to the North Shore of Oahu for the Da Hui Backdoor Shootout.

On January 12, the legendary Bethany Hamilton and others showed why competition organizers punched their tickets. Hamilton, Moana Wong Jones, Keala Kennelly and Bianca Valenti rowed for the heat for their team midway through day three of the event and found optimum conditions.

hamilton faded away in one of the biggest barrels of the day as the waves topped 12 feet.

Wong Jones also fell into a vehicle-sized tube and exited the other side in a particularly clean ride.

The Da Hui Backdoor Shootout holds its no-shirt competition every January in memory of the Hawaiian surfing pioneer Duke Kahanamoku. In addition to shortboard surfing, it offers bodysurfing, bodyboarding, longboarding and SUP.

If you feel like blowing your Monday, you can watch every 9 hours of Day 3 here. Zane Kekoa Schweitzer claimed first place overall in 2022 Shootingwhich ended on January 16.
