Catch mountain biking thrills at a family bike park

Do you miss the adrenaline rush of hurtling down the slopes? I’m a new skier and I already miss the trips up the mountain, the scenic chairlift ride and the feeling in my stomach of hurtling down the trails.

I’m a big fan of new things, especially when it comes to outdoor activities. I started hiking, am an avid kayaker, recently did my first triathlon and will try most things at least once. I wanted a new activity and I think I just found it: mountain biking.

Mount Abram Bike Park

As a new skier, Mt Abram was a safe space to learn to ski and feel comfortable doing it in an unpretentious environment. The smallest of our ski mountains, it offered a great atmosphere with fantastic trails to ski down the mountain and feel comfortable doing it.

The mountain in Greenwood, Maine offers the same comfort and thrill during the summer with its new bike park. The lift-accessible downhill mountain bike park has been specially designed for beginners and families for those who have never tried it before but are looking for a fun outdoor activity.

The family-oriented environment is laid-back, just like their ski slopes, while offering epic trail features like banked turns, whoop sessions, long, fast turns, and incredible views, like explained on their site.

They have trails for all ability and experience levels and are expanding to add even more. So whether you’re like me and trying it for the first time or you’ve been mountain biking since you could walk, there are some epic trails you can ride and enjoy at your comfort level.

The park is open four days a week and has live music on weekends in their beer garden. It really is the best of all worlds; an adrenaline filled activity that is awesome, great food and drink, and live music to unwind.

It’s pretty much the summer version of skiing and I’m dying to try it.
